Nearly 50 million Americans…

live in food insecure households. That’s a fancy way of saying that millions of our neighbors—the elderly, unemployed dads and moms, and 15 million children—face constant worry about where their next meal will come from.

So, what can we do to help them? On April 26th, compassionate people in El Dorado Hills and neighboring communities will gather to meet the need at the Food in the Foothills Empty Bowls Dinner and Silent Auction. Each attendee will be treated to a humble bowl of soup accompanied by bread and served in a handcrafted ceramic bowl. They’ll take the bowls home as a gentle reminder that the need remains. Funds raised at the event will go to the Twin Lakes Food Bank and the Upper Room in Placerville.
